Q&A with Natalie - Marketing Liaison

Professional Background

  • What’s one professional achievement you’re particularly proud of?

One professional achievement I’m particularly proud of is being accepted into the Leadership Maine program as part of the Gulf class of 2025–2026. Through my leadership and work with KV Connect, I was encouraged to apply for Leadership Maine, as well as a scholarship through the Realize Maine Network, of which KV Connect is part of. I was honored not only to be accepted into the program but also to be awarded a scholarship to attend. Participating in Leadership Maine will help me grow both personally and professionally. It will strengthen my contributions to KV Connect and also support my role at United Way of Kennebec Valley as Development Manager by enhancing my skills in collaboration, community engagement, and strategic thinking.

Involvement with KV Connect

  • What’s your role on the steering committee?

My role on the steering committee is quite dynamic—I’m involved in a variety of tasks to help keep things running smoothly. I serve as the primary point of contact for all communications for KV Connect, managing our social media channels, Constant Contact newsletters, and email correspondence. In addition to my responsibilities on the steering committee, I actively participate in both the Community Engagement and Membership Committees. I also regularly attend Mid-Maine Chamber events, representing KV Connect and helping to build connections within the community.

Personal Connection & Local Pride

  • What do you love most about living and working in Central Maine?

What I love most about living and working in Central Maine is that it’s the community I grew up in and now am proud to be raising my own family here. I haven’t left the Central Maine area because it truly feels like home – I even attended college here. There’s a strong sense of community and belonging people genuinely care about each other and work together to support and grow the area. Plus, you are close to the ocean, mountains and city all while being able to enjoy the openness and beauty mother nature has to offer in our area.

Personal Fun & Interests

  • What was your first job, and what did you learn from it?

My first job was as a camp counselor. I learned the importance of leadership, patience, and communication. Working with kids taught me how to adapt quickly, solve problems on the spot, and create a positive environment for everyone involved. It was an early lesson in responsibility and teamwork that has stayed with me.

Advice & Inspiration

  • What motivates you to keep growing personally and professionally?

My deep commitment to our community. I’m passionate about contributing to making Central Maine the best place to live, work, and play. Knowing that my growth can directly impact the well-being and vitality of the community I call home inspires me to keep learning, improving, and taking on new challenges.
